Ah, the obligatory “About Me” page. I never know what to put in these things as most people who view these pages already know who I am! Still, here goes…
I’m Jon Still, a 20-something guy based in the UK. Work-wise, I’m IT Security Officer for a well-known financial institution based in London’s Docklands and specialise in system and network security as well as getting in all the policy/process side of things.
I’m married to Alice, who I married in September 2002. We live, together with our cat Lucy in a nice house in anonymous suburbia, about 40 miles north of London.
I tend to do a fair amount of computer stuff outside of work - I run the webserver this website is hosted on (which also hosts sites for a bunch of other folks too) and try to find a little time to keep my knowledge up to date. I’m a big fan of Linux, so this server runs a flavour of that and is co-located with the fantastic guys at Black Cat Networks in London.
I’m heavily involved in our local amateur theatre society - I was in our panto last year and am currently in a small role for the local drama festival. I also help out with set-building, lighting and pretty much anything else backstage that might need doing!
I’ve also just started taking flying lessons with Bonus Aviation, based at Cranfield Airport. Having a tremendous amount of fun doing that as and when I can afford to! Hopefully I’ll get my PPL soon enough!
